I am a journalist whose writing has appeared in the New York Times, the Atlantic, the Believer, Smithsonian Magazine, Longreads, Sierra Magazine, Inside Climate News, and Literary Hub, among others. My work has been republished or syndicated in Mother Jones, Grist, Slate, and local news publications across the U.S.
My current work, as the Pennsylvania reporter for Inside Climate News, focuses on climate change, energy, politics, and the environment, and I’ve also written about arts & culture, history, and public health. I have been a regular contributor to Warming Trends, Inside Climate News’ column about climate and culture.
I hold an M.F.A. in creative writing and an M.S. in journalism from Columbia University, and I’ve taught writing and journalism at Columbia, Blue Stoop, and Catapult. I also edit long-form narrative nonfiction stories for the Sunday Long Read. In 2018, I was one of the winners of the Poets & Writers Amy Award for poetry.
